With fully staffed offices in Bracebridge and Huntsville, and an Operations Site in Parry Sound, our company is deeply rooted in the local community. Lakeland Networks proudly stands as the largest locally owned and based communications provider in the Districts of Muskoka & Parry Sound.

In fact, PC Magazine ranks us #1 for speed in our service area, ensuring that even in the midst of nature’s tranquility, you’re seamlessly connected. As Lakeland Networks strides into the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to leveraging new technologies and opportunities to better serve our customers. Currently, we serve 8,000 customers across Muskoka, Parry Sound, and the Wasauksing First Nation. Our expansion is grounded in sustainable practices, aligning with the environmental ethos of our region, while ensuring a reasonable return on investment for our shareholders and leveraging provincial or national grants when feasible.
Hydro Distribution Utility
Lakeland Power, along with Hydro One, are the power utilities serving our shareholder municipalities and are regulated by the Ontario Energy Board.
As high as 68% of the hydro provided by Lakeland Power monthly is from local clean renewable energy sources including Lakeland Generation’s hydroelectric power and our SPEEDIER Solar grid in Parry Sound. It’s all a virtuous cycle!
To provide reliability in this densely forested, challenging region, Lakeland Power continually upgrades & maintains the electrical distribution system which services urban, rural and island customers. In addition, we work diligently to address the changing requirements of residential and business customers, while implementing government programs and policy changes.

Powered by the very essence of Muskoka’s natural beauty, Lakeland Generation operates 11 waterpower generating plants across 6 watersheds from Bancroft to Parry Sound. Our dams, including iconic landmarks like Bracebridge Falls, Cascade Falls in Parry Sound, and Burk’s Falls, harness the local, clean, renewable power of flowing waters, and contribute hydro that Lakeland Power distributes.
Beyond power generation, we champion energy efficiency, safety, and the preservation of our historic facilities, ensuring that our progress as an industry leader harmonizes with the timeless charm of Muskoka’s landscapes.
